International Quilt Festival

I am thrilled to have my art cloth piece "Goddess" in a special exhibit at the International Quilt Festival in Houston called "Power of Women"!  I created this piece with Procion dyes and ice on cotton sheer fabric.

Layering two images allows the bottom layer to show through creating an ethereal quality to the quilt as illustrated by this calla lily floating over a wood panel.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

I decided to try out some of the embroidery stitches on my handy dandy sewing machine!

I decided to sew some purses and pouches out of fabric I hand painted.  To do this, I used fabric painted, rubber stamps (that I carved), wood stamps, stencils, freezer paper and a gel pen.  There were no rules – just play time.

The purses and pouches were created from patterns I designed.
