Happy Solstice!
Hot sun, summer fun, county fairs, beaches, and boardwalks, conjure up the taste of summer sweets.
To create this quilt I used:
Caran d’Ache neocolor II, fusible fleece, hand painted and commercial fabric, dyed cotton, buttons, ribbon, cotton and rayon thread, and cotton batting. Hand and machine appliqué, needle felting, hand and machine quilting.

In Bloom
To create this mixed-media piece, I wove a grid using copper wire and handmade paper. I Intertwined fabric and raffia to create the vines, and embellished with flowers made of fabric that was colored with watercolor pencils and micron pens. I made french knots with embroidery floss for the center of the flowers. Photo by Doug Clark

Happy Spring Time
I created these felted eggs using plastic eggs from Walgreen's, and wool felt. I wrapped the felt around the eggs, put them in a nylon stocking, tied string around the stocking to hold them in place, and put them in the washer and dryer. To finish I wrapped embroidery floss around each egg.(see Judy Coates Perez video on How to Make Felted Pumpkins)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDufUyPsncwI created these magnets by painting and stamping the background. Then, I stamped the flowers, cut them apart, stitched around the flowers, and zigzagged around the edges to bind. Finally, I add tiny crystals in the center for sparkle.
